What is a Way Group?

A Way Group is a small covenant community that gathers regularly to grow in faith, build meaningful relationships, and encourage one another in following Jesus. Rooted in Scripture, grounded in prayer, and shaped by honest conversation, Way Groups help us explore what it means to live as Christ's disciples in today's world.

Way Groups are about becoming more like Jesus together. We deepen our personal spirituality, support one another through life's challenges, and help one another carry the Way of Christ into daily life.

Is a Way Group for You?

YES! Way Groups are for everyone whether you've been part of a small group before or are trying one for the first time. You do not need to have it all figured out. Bring your questions, your story, and a willingness to grow with others.

A Simple Rhythm

Way Groups gather around a simple rhythm that connects faith, relationships, and everyday life.

👋 OPENING & CHECK-IN:

Arrive, connect, and notice where grace has been present.

📖 SCRIPTURE & PASTORAL MESSAGE:

Engage the Scripture for upcoming worship and a weekly message from one of the pastors.

💬 HOLY CONVERSATION:

Listen, wonder, ask questions, and learn from one another.

📅 SPIRITUAL PRACTICE:

Experiment with a shared monthly practice that helps faith move into daily life.

🙏 PRAYER & SENDING:

Share joys and concerns, pray together, and carry the Way of Christ into the week.

What's New?

Way Groups build on what has been meaningful in Calvary's small group ministry with a renewed focus on intentional spiritual growth.

⛪ SPIRITUAL FORMATION: Each month we will engage a simple, accessible spiritual practice and reflect on how it is shaping our relationship with God and our daily life.

🩷 COVENANT RELATIONSHIP: Each group creates a shared covenant around belonging, learning, practicing, and going. The covenant builds trust, clarity, and deeper community.

⭐ SHARED LEADERSHIP: Leaders are supported with training, resources, pastoral partnership, and an apprentice pathway so leadership is shared and developed.

What Remains the Same?

While there will be some changes, Way Groups are not abandoning what has helped people connect, learn, and grow. The familiar strengths of Calvary's small group ministry remain at the heart of this renewal.

You can still expect:

Weekly engagement with Scripture, especially the passage shaping upcoming worship.
A short weekly video message from one of the pastors.
Thoughtful discussion and honest conversation rather than lectures or tests.
Prayer for one another and for the world.
A welcoming space for people at different places in their spiritual journey.
Connection to the worship, mission, and shared life of Calvary.

SAME SCRIPTURE. SAME PASTORAL CONNECTION. A deeper shared practice of becoming disciples together.

More than a Bible Study

Way Groups remain deeply rooted in Scripture, but formation is more than learning information. Through prayer, reflection, conversation, and simple spiritual practices, we create space for God to shape our hearts, renew our minds, and deepen our love for God and neighbor. Formation happens as we practice the Way together.
